The university has two campuses, one located in Changsha, the capital of Hunan Province and one of the most famous cultural and historical cities in China, the other Zhuzhou, one of the largest industrial cities of the province and a key industrial city in South China The 7 person delegation will visit University of Wales Institute, Cardiff, University of Wales Swansea, Swansea Institute of Higher Education, University of Wales Aberystwyth, University of Wales Bangor and North East Wales Institute of Higher Education. The visit will include tours of campuses and departments along with discussions with international offices.  In 2006 a new programme will begin at CSFU, created by the Wales International Consortium and validated by University of Wales. This programme will be a pre-masters Programme designed to prepare Chinese students for postgraduate courses throughout Wales. In addition discussions during the visit will focus on further joint programmes, in which CSFU students will study partly at CSFU and transfer to HEI’s in Wales to study for an undergraduate or postgraduate degree awarded by the HEI or the University of Wales.

Stephen Lawrence, Director of Development and External Affairs at University of Wales Aberystwyth and Chair of the Wales International Consortium said, “International recruitment is changing rapidly, particularly in relatively new markets such as China, and there is growing interest in courses taught partly in China and partly in the UK. Through WIC, the higher education institutions in Wales can offer a wide portfolio of academic subjects, a range of institutions and locations and, most importantly, flexibility in the structure of the courses. We are really looking forward to CSFU students coming to study in Wales for all or part of their Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses from 2006.”
