International students meet First MinisterMin Yu (left) Guangzhe Sun with First Minister Carwyn Jones

On the 2nd March and the 4th March, the First Minister for Wales and the Deputy First Minister for Wales attended receptions in Cardiff and Llandudno for international students in Welsh universities to celebrate Wales’ national day, St David’s Day.

The students enjoyed an of evening Welsh food and drink and the opportunity to meet the Ministers and other international students.

Azi Mah Zaili from Brunei who is studying at the University of Wales Institute Cardiff said "It was an honour to meet the First Minister and encouraging that
he recognizes international students in Wales."

International students Min Yu, Guangze Sun and Haleh Babvand from University of Wales Lampeter, met the First Minister for Wales Carwyn Jones. Min Yu and Guangze Sun are both third year students in Business Management and Chinese Studies, whilst Min Yu also teaches Chinese at Newcastle Emlyn school on behalf of Lampeter’s Confucius Institute. Haleh Babavand, is a postgraduate student on the MA English with TELF course.
