Innovative Accounting course offered at Glamorgan Business School
Glamorgan Business School will launch a unique Masters course in Wales this coming academic year.
The MSc Accounting will provide students with both a Masters degree in accounting and assistance with elements of the globally recognised Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) final stage papers at a centre of excellent teaching accredited as a Gold Provider by the ACCA. The Business School’s accounting lecturers will ensure that students receive the best possible preparation for the ACCA’s examination papers.
Students will study real issues presented by leading practitioners from international accounting firms and foster critical appraisal skills and attitudes towards all types of business data. This is supplemented by academic staff with extensive practical and academic knowledge in a department rated ‘excellent’ for teaching quality. However, if students do not want to pursue the ACCA qualification, then they are welcome to study just the Masters programme.
This postgraduate degree is open to both international and home students, and may appeal particularly to those students who would have difficulty applying for a visa to study just the ACCA qualification.
Alison Lane, MSc Accounting Scheme Leader says: “I believe that this Masters course will appeal to those students who have good honours degrees in accounting or finance and want to expand their accounting knowledge to a professional level and obviously gaining two qualifications for the price of one is an added bonus!”
