The Validation Board was established in 1974 and has responsibility for advising the Academic Board on all matters relating to the validation of degree and other schemes of study offered at centres outside the University of Wales itself. The Board's formal terms of reference are set out in the Academic Regulations.

The Validation Board:

The Board consists of a representative from each of the Member Institutions of the University and one representative of the Regulations and Special Cases Committee. Associated Institutions who are involved in international validation activity are also represented on the Board. The Board normally meets on three occasions during each academic session.
