Celebration of International Students in WalesGraduating at Cardiff University
International students celebrated graduation days throughout Wales this summer. Hundreds of family members and friends also travelled from all over the world to witness the graduation celebrations. In addition many universities held graduation ceremonies for their worldwide
programmes overseas such as the recent UWIC graduation ceremony held in Brunei.


Swansea University Hong Kong Alumni
To celebrate the 90th anniversary and long history of working with students, academics and alumni in Hong Kong, Swansea University is hosting an event at the Mira Hotel (Kowloon) on August 28th 2010. This will be an event for alumni, new students and their parents, as well as current Swansea University students
to come together, network and share their experiences. If you would like to attend, please register your interest at alumni@swansea.ac.uk and you will receive further information.

Jia (Joy) Yihui (China), Phd in Business and Economics
Joy Jia, a PhD student in Swansea University's School of Business and Economics has been awarded a Doctoral Research Fellowship, worth over £40,000, by one of the world’s largest international risk and insurance brokers.
Ms Yihui (Joy) Jia, 30, is originally from Shanghai, China. She is a graduate in computer science from Tongji University, China, and subsequently achieved a distinction in her MSc in Management (Finance) at Swansea University in 2007.

No glass ceiling for MBA alumnus Sawsan Noor
Batelco has recently announced the promotion of Sawsan Noor from the Company's Enterprise Division to the post of Head of Government Segment, one of the company's largest segments, which serves a significant number of Batelco's customers. Sawsan, who has served as Head of Major Accounts and International Business since 2008, has held a number of prominent roles throughout her working career and holds an MBA from the University of Glamorgan in Wales.
