University of Wales Newport
Goki Watanabe (Japan),
BSc (Hons) Accounting
My first impression of Newport is that Newport is not a big city but compact
and friendly. Newport is a good city to live, work and study, especially for an
international student who has not studied abroad before. Caerleon is also a
small village but is the most suitable environment to study and to make new
friends!
The International office has helped me in many aspects. The first time when I
came to Newport, they arranged an induction programme that tells international
students how to live in Newport and how to study at the university. They helped
to open my bank account, arranged early enrolment for international students,
and took us on lots of visits. They are there for help us! They give advice about
how to spend time during holiday, or whenever you need advice about your
pathway, they’ll help you!
