Aberystwyth University
Creative industries subjects are taught within the Department of Theatre, Film & Television Studies. Undergraduate courses include Digital Media & Communications, Drama & Theatre Studies, Film & television Studies, Performance Studies and Scenography & Theatre Design. Postgraduate courses include Scriptwriting and Radio Production.
Bangor University
At undergraduate level the National Institute for Excellence in the Creative Industries™ specializes in three key areas: Creative Writing, Professional Writing and Communications and Journalism; Media, Film and Cinema Studies, New Media; The Entertainment Industries and Performance Arts.
Its research and knowledge transfer NIECI activities extend beyond this also to all areas of the Creative Industries. The Creative Industries are defined as: Television and Radio, the Writing Arts and Publishing (incl. Creative Writing, Professional Writing, Journalism), Film and Video, Architecture, Music, Performing Arts, software and computer games, Crafts, Design, Designer Fashion, Art and Antiques Market, Interactive Leisure Software and Advertising.
The NIECI is equipped with excellent facilities. We have a dedicated Media Centre with a professionally equipped TV and Radio studio, which is the transmission base for the student radio station ‘Storm FM’. Recently the 1Xtra radio DJ, G Child, broadcast an exclusive 2 hour show from our facilities at Bangor and two Bangor students received nominations in the Annual Student Radio Awards for their work on Storm FM. The Media Centre is also undergoing additional development work which will see its sound and video production areas further enhanced.
The NIECI also occupies space at CAST, the Centre for Advanced Software Technology building, in Parc Menai. New developments at the Institute include the construction of a creative writing and journalism centre, a large cinema space, performance spaces and a creative WIFI meeting place for students engaged with projects or simply looking to access local, national and international material.

NEWI
The School of Humanities offers courses in Writing & Media Communications and Theatre & Performance. The North Wales School of Art and Design has become well established throughout the world. Both traditional and contemporary arts are well represented. NEWI is the only school of Art and Design in Wales that offers illustration for childrens publishing.
RWCMD
Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama is the National Conservatoire of Wales. The college presents over 300 public performances every year, including concerts and guest recitals, opera, musical theatre and a range of drama productions. Courses include Acting, Stage Management, Music and Theatre Design.
Swansea Metropolitan University
Home to a new centre of excellence and a prestigious annual conference. The new Creative Industries Research and Innovation Centre will provide unique and innovative support packages to practititoners, researchers, educators and entrepreneur to collaborate with others to develop th ecreative industries sector in Wales. Courses include Digital and Multimedia, Computer Animation and Graphic Design.

The Cardiff School of Creative and Cultural Industries, housed in the redesigned and refurbished building ATRiuM, is part of the £35m development plan which opened in October 2007.
