The Welsh enthusiasm for spectator sport can best be seen
on the rugby field. 
Soccer is also a national pastime.
Both games are also played on an international level in the Wales Millenium Stadium in Cardiff.
Golf Wales is a country perfectly designed for golf. It has almost 200 courses set amid its most spectacular scenery. Celtic Manor resort will host the Ryder Cup 2010, which along with University of Wales Newport comprises the Wales Golf Academy.
With almost 1000mile of coastline it is ideal for abseiling, coasteering, canoeing and sailing, and has sub-aqua and surfing beaches such as Llangennith, Negale, Hells Mouth and Whistling Sands.
Rallying Another keen sport reflected in the abundance of performance car technology programmes in Wales.
At Glyndwr University the course fully explores the engineering of modern racing car design and development. Students will gain a full understanding of the structures, systems, dynamics and design of a car, as well as having the opportunity to develop business skills.
Swansea Metropolitan University offers Motorsport engineering such as HND and Beng in Motorsport Engineering & Design and Motorsport Electronic Systems.
UWIC is home to the National Indoor Athletic Arena and the Centre for Performance Analysis Course options at UWIC include Leisure and Sports Management, Science in Health Exercise and Leisure Venue & Event Management.
Bangor University's Sport, Health and Exercise Department is rated 2nd in the UK for its research. Research areas include sport psychology, perceptual motor-group, physiology and the university is the home of the Institute for Rehabilition and the Institute for Psychology of Elite Performance.
Sport and Exercise Science courses are also available at Glyndwr University. At Trinity University College, Sport, Health and Outdoor Education is taught, courses include BSc in Physical Exercise and MA in Outdoor Education.
